Advanced Sensor Technology Technology and Innovation The trends recently moves towards digitalization in milling processes. As one of the leaders in milling industry, Henry Simon introduces the ‘Intelligent Milling’ concept as an innovative approach bringing a higher reliability, consistent performance and efficient process control for mill management. The concept focuses on optimizing process parameters, while also reducing the operational losses and using the sources efficiently. These systems can be considered as advanced process control and management tools, and being used with supporting machinery, equipment and software.

One of these solutions is Advanced Sensor Technology™ in main milling machines (i.e. HSRM Roller Mill, HSPQ Plan sifter and HSPU Purifier), that works with tracking the critical parameters in operational conditions of the machines. Engineering and Process Design The milling is not a conventional process, but it is rather complex that requires a special process designs. with bulueprints. Sections of a Mill

A conventional mill basically consist of Pre-cleaning, Grain Storage, Cleaning, Milling, Scaling & Packaging sections; which can be designed specifically and customized for the required capacity, type of grain and specific customer requests.

Pre-Cleaning Basically the grain is separated from residues and impurities at reception. This is a rough and fast cleaning process in order to decrease the rate of impurities.

Cleaning This is the step to ensure that the grain is free from residues and impurities (i.e. stone, husk, straw, soil, dust, seeds etc.) for efficient processing. The processes used in cleaning mainly consists of mechanical separation by specific weight, particle size, shape and now even by color, texture with high technology optical sorters.

Milling It is a gradual process where the grain is grinded uniformly into flour/semolina, which can be analyzed at micron levels. The process is very crucial and complec considering that the grain can go through the milling machines up to 16 times!

Scale&Packaging Section
Scaling & Packaging The flour/semolina can be packed in paper or polypropylene bags in different sizes from 1 kg to 50 kg., or leaves the mill on trucks and trailers with a bulk loading operation depending on the customer request.
